Top artists from Rome, England, France and across the U.S. have come together to donate their own special talents to fund the New Orleans Habitat House, as well as homes for animals displaced by the hurricanes.
The painters version of "We are the World," this project consists of internationally renowned artists including Barth White, of Las Vegas Bellagio fame; Gary Lord "It's Faux Easy"; and Malanie Royals' "stenciling Trompe L'Oeil Murals."

While the first choice for displaying their art might have been a home in New Orleans, the ongoing rescue and rebuilding of public roads and services made that impractical. Therefore, the artists concentrated on creating a show house in the D.C. area, a makeover of a Chicago church and rectory, and an international birdhouse painting contest.
100% of the proceeds from the public tours of the house go to Habitat for Humanity.
The House that Faux Built needs your help to raise the rest of the 75k. Once funded many of the artists and volunteers will also go to New Orleans to work on the Habitat house. New Orleans "celebrated" the 1 year anniversary of Katrina recently.
The devastation is still widespread. Several problems preclude faster rebuilding. Habitat for Humanity and other helping organizations are not allowed to build until the government completes the updated flood area maps. They estimate another 4-6 months. And, there are not enough trade people for all the remodeling, trash removal and building.
It's not to late to help… The Arlington house is closed. But a book was published.
The House That Faux Built: How to Transform Your Home From Shabby to Showplace Using Paints, Plasters and Creativity.
The book was published in late June and has full color before-and after photographs of the Arlington Project and its sister project in Chicago.
Birdhouse Auction – eBay October 20th, 2006 In order to allow other artisans to participate in the House that Faux Built, a birdhouse contest was started. Fauxed or painted bird "houses" are included in the "House that Faux Built" project/book to benefit those with fur and feathers left homeless by the hurricanes. The winning birdhouse goes in the Habitat House. 100% of birdhouse proceeds are going to Noah's Wish.
