Marie Weinert-Dallas, Ga. Love, love, love new site. very attractive. Have entered the ‘faux’ world late in life but enjoy it so much. Have worked on my home as well as that of my children. They find the pictures and ideas in magazines, etc. and then want me to duplicate them. I have tried several different applications and like it a lot when their are dvd’s. (I have both of Painter Lady’s, have done the bricks though I have not tried the doors yet) Would love to try the new products. Keep sharing your knowledge. thanks, marie
I recently bought a new home and trying to make it look different than all the others in the neighborhood. I love the website and have tried some of the techniques. I would love to try some of the new products out there. Thanks.
I am artisically challenged, so every time I start a new project I come poke around your website for new ideas and tips. The new site is easier to navigate, so now it will be even more fun to come check things out! I love to decorate my home in unique ways, and as I have no talent of my own, I thank you for sharing yours! Winning any of these prizes would definitely be a gift. Lisa Tilford/CA
I would love to have the prize. I jumped in with both feet when I remodeled my kitchen. I used several techniques, very simple ones, in the kitchen and they turned out great. I am anxious to try several more techniques when I remodel my bath. Lots of ideas have come from you website. Thanks a lot.

I’d love to win because I teach women to do home repair and decorating projects and my “Paint - plain and fancy” parties would be the perfect place to showcase your wonderful products along with the great Tomboy Tools I sell.
I love your website and suggestions. I live in a 20 year old condo in the desert southwest. It has ugly, golden oak cabinets with curvey insets. Would love to do something with them that would not be fragile and hold up to kitchen maintenance.

Hi Debra:
Thanks for all the useful info in your e-newsletter and the website re-design looks great. I especially love the how-to videos on the home page. My friend and I are starting up a mural business together and I would love to add the grand prize goodies to our paint box of tools! Thanks again for the great info!

I’ve been a regular to your website for over a year. When I first found you I was looking for advice on what to do with my golden oak kitchen cabinets. I had submitted a comment to you about an antique finish and that my husband was scared that the cabinets would just end up looking dirty. Boy was he wrong!!! They look awesome and I can’t believe that I did them. I’m so impressed with myself. I never posted any “after” pictures because I didn’t take any pictures before I started. I painted them off white and applied a brown paint/glaze mixture on top. When I finished my cabinets, I painted my kitchen island black and then sanded it for a distressed look. Once again, awesome!! Now, I’m ready for my next project. My mother-in-law just gave me and antique end table and I can’t wait to get started on it. Thanks for all of the great advice in your website.
I just left a comment and forgot to include my state.

Graphic Designer for 25 years, and I’ve painted murals in the past. Recently had a client ask me about doing some faux painting. Did a web search and found you. My first attempt was successful. Thanks for your support, I enjoy being a part of this creative group.
As I grow older I require easy instructions and artistic instruction which make my task of re-do projects a lot simplier. When I was a young whipper snapper I knew everything, now I know much less and work a lot slower, but with all the help I can get a project seems to flow much better!
HEY DEBRA, EVERYHTING LOOKS GREAT!!!! WHEN IS YOUR BIRTHDAY?? THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP….TARA
I’m a recent widow and I’ve decided maybe if I redo some of the rooms in my home it’ll help me get on with the next journey of my life. I’ve already started in the living room, but I have lots more rooms to go. I love the faux finishes on your website, but so far I haven’t been brave enough to try them. This is a great website to help us novices. Keep up the good work.
Hey That Painter Lady,
I love your new website. It looks like fun to manuever around and find interesting stuff. I just bought my first house ever. Two of my aunts are artists and they have really cool painted rooms in their houses. I want to wow them with my creations I am learning with your help. My kitchen looks great with the bricks your dvd helped me with. I would love to win some cool stuff to help me with my new house and projects.

Hello Debra,
I started looking at your site some time ago. I look forward to your emails letting me know there is something new. I painted faux bricks on my kitchen wall. I looked up your site to find out how. They look great. I would love to win I have been laid off from work and have lots of time on my hands. I need to fix up my house and the deco art looks very interresting. I have done some murals on walls. I love the way your new site looks. I know it must have taken you a long time to get it so perfect.

LOve the new web page.
Thanks

I was just looking at these in the store and came home and did some research on them, very cool! I have been trying textured spray paints and love the results. Old things really can look new again!
I would love to do some of this work at my Grandmother’s house. She loves this stuff, as do I. I love your new website and all of your helpful tips!
I have enjoyed reading the tips from the Painter Lady. I look forward to trying them.
I have enjoyed your tips for faux painting. My house needs to be updated and I have no decorating skills. I am especially interested in faux painting and help picking colors.
Love your ‘re-designed’ website! I could certainly make good use of any of your prizes. I’m a decorative painter, and have done quite a bit of furniture painting, as well as some wall treatments and brick chimney updates (the bricks had many coats of white paint, but could still see the outlines of the bricks, so I cut a sponge to size and stamped the bricks back on, a darker shade alog the bottom and one side to give them depth, then painted the grout on.) Looks great, even up close. I also teach decorative painting, so can also use items for teaching purposes. Thanks for all you do!
I would love to win. I am wanting to redo my entry way wall and need all the help I can get.
I love your new website, especially your push button to ask questions. I would love your prizes that help with faux painting, redecorating and picking paint colors to help with my redecorating project.

Hi Guys, First of all let me say I love the new website. Your information is so valuable to me and when I have question or concerns about painting designs I know where to go. It also inspires me. I really want to step up on the road to faux painting for profit, and if I was to win the Deco Art Texture package it will be a step closer. But even if I don’t get it I am blessed to have your website and all the wonderful tips available to me.
Thanks for being there…
Tammy
Hello Debra! I have to tell you how much I believe your encouragement pushed me to actually doing murals. Painting has been the joy of my heart since childhood, and I have only recently rediscovered how much a visiually beautiful mural / room, can cheer people up and amaze all who get to see it.
I’d LOVE to win one of your prizes. I endeavor to get commissions for more work, and will post some work I’ve finished for you to see.
Sincerely,
Amanda

Linda Rivera - Southern Illinois Hey Debra, Love your new format! Very slim-line and easy to read. I’m a GrMa and have always loved to do anything that is creative. My sister has done faux painting on her walls and it looks great. I tried it and it looked horrible - was painted over immediately. I need lots of help! Peace, Love & Chicken Grease !!!

I love trying new ideas that are posted on your website and would love the products to play with. Your site is an inspiration. Thank-you for all the wonderful information.
Hi!
Karen from Washington state here. I have used many of your techniques to make my 1950’s house livable. It has been fun so far, and I find myself looking for excuses to paint! Recently had the house appraised, and the efforts really paid off…even in today’s market! I used to dread painting before finding success with your tips. I like the new format too. It’s good to learn of new products. Can’t wait to try some of them.
Happy Holidays.
My name is Paula Eaves, I live in Texas. I love your site. I am not an artist, I can’t even draw a strait line with a ruler. I have a kitchen that is in desperate need of paint or maybe demolition. I have been trying to redo my kitchen for 2 years now but some disaster has always occurred to stop me. My daughters 4-wheeler accident and then the hurricane. I so want to do my kitchen/dining room combo in the Tuscan style. Thanks for the wonderful website of vast knowledge and information. Keep up the great work.
I would love to try some new products and techniques to share with my clients.Pick me, pick me!!!!
I look forward to visiting your spiffy new website often. It looks great.

Hi Debra,
I really enjoy reading your articles and newsletters. The tips that you give are great! I live in Bessemer City, NC and work full time in an office. I have just recently ventured out from my regular painting to doing some faux finishing for people I know. I would love to win the items for learning more. I would like to see more projects from different people sent in on your website. I would like to send you some of the ones I am working on. I really enjoy learning new techniques and it is great therapy to. Have a great weekend.
I would love to win one of the prizes. As a first time decorative painting project (aside from sponge painting here and there), I did an 8 step process to refinish my kitchen cabinets in an antique mediteranean wood look SUCCESSFULLY(!). Since then, I’ve been reading through numerous library books along with info you’ve sent in emails, trying to determine if this is something I can do to make a buck or two. Now, I see that your website has tips on painting for profit and much more, so I have more studying to do. I have yet to practice more techniques, so the prize would be a definite incentive to get myself moving. I like the simple design of the website (I’m sure it wasn’t simple to do - I am a computer programmer at this time, so I know!), but the look and feel is easy to follow and that’s wonderful for busy folk like us! Thank you.
I love reading about all the ideas posted on your website and have tried a few. We live in an older home and have many rooms to update. Your website gives me great ideas and tons of information. thank you so much. The new website is GREAT!
I have always loved doing the faux painting on walls and furniture. Your website and newsletters encourage me to make the time to do it! Thank you for your inspirition!
Hello,
I find faux painted walls and floors, etc. fascinating when it’s done well. I “marbleized” my kitchen floor about 10 years ago, and everyone thought it was the real thing… until they looked closer. Now it needs a touch-up, but I seem to have lost that special touch to get it right. There are so many new kinds of paints and tricks that I am sure would help me, and look forward to trying new products.
I tried your faux brick technique in my bedroom and I’m still in awe of how real it looks. It’s like living in an old world room, so soothing and calming. One thing I did differently was the grout. I’d painted it one color and wasn’t quite satisfied so I added a darker wash over it and blotted it with a paper towel. You wouldn’t believe how real it looks, like real mortar. I’m hoping to drop pictures by our local Sherwin Williams. The manager said he’s constantly getting calls for names of people who do faux painting. This may become a new business for me once I get a little more experience under my belt. Debra, you’re awesome. Thank you so much for sharing your technique with us.
Hi,
I’m so excited to have the faux finish for bricks dvd. I’m turning a small garage into a guest room and can’t wait to have you in the room with me! (by way of DVD of course)Look forward to using a lot of your ideas and your web site is GREAT!

First of all, thank you Debra for being so passionate about painting and sharing your talent. Believe it or not, you have bailed me out of a few messes …..my walls thank you too! It’s so scary to try something new and find out if ya just follow the instructions it turns out like you said it would. I am presently deliberating on color for my living room. My husband likes white walls, and white walls remind me of my first apartment…….boring! Your website has seen a significant change and your endeavors are amazing as well as your creations. Thanks for getting everyone all pumped up about the contest. It’s fun to read how “That Painter Lady” has touched their lives and walls……….hehehe! Thanks!

I LOVE decorative painting and faux finishing in houses, on furniture. Just recently did a couple of paid jobs and I am always looking for new and creative tools. Thanks for your one of a kind web-site. I am looking forward to using it a great deal in the near future.
I found it. I would like to tell you I am glad the website is complete and it is pretty easy to manuever around. I would also like to share a project that I am working on, it is a faux finish on my sister in laws countertops, they are formica and I have done a marble technique but I am having a hard time trying to find a sealer that doesn’t yellow and is also safe with food, any suggestions?
Can’t never did anything! My home is my art pallette and I am only limited by what my husband will tolerate!
Hi Debbie!
So glad you are finished with the website. I am still working on mine (above) and I feel the pain you went through.
I would LOVE to wind the 1st place prize as this would be the last step to my mural in my newly designed living room bar. You answered a previous email I sent you needing advise on how to achieve a 3D effect on the mural and the prize is just what I need.
Thank you so much for your advise, it turned out great. I’ll send you pictures in a separate email.

I have been in construction for many years, and as such have always looked for ways to make myself stand out. Some of your techniques have helped immensely. The only drawback is my wife! Between your website, your newsletter, and HGTV I think she is ready to redecorate the world!
Thanks for all you do…
We are building a log home in Oregon and would love to use the prize products on the walls. We may even submit the house to a log home magazine for an article.
I am a decorative painter and am slowly getting out of the business. I would love to start a hobby art group in my home. I love the deco texture. You can do alot of fun projects with it.
Debra,
I’m not eligible to win your prizes as I’m living outside USA. Any way I would like to congratulate you for the new web page. And HAPPY Birthday too!!!
Thank you for sharing ideas and the newsletter…
Hi Debbie!
I am Leanne Wendte
From Nebraska
Happy early birthday! Your sight has given me insight into the faux painting world. I am building a new home & would love to use some of your techniques. I have very high ceilings and would like to use warm colors (fall colors) because we have a view of a lake & it has a cabiny feel to it.
Thanks for your help & showing me some new products.
Wish me luck! Thanks.
Ashley-Michael from Ohio!
I am a new home owner (for about a year now!) and since then, I have changed the colour scheme in my house twice, unable to figure out a definite set of colours I would like to dedicate to my living room, and hallway for more than 6 months it seems! I am very fond of reds… and my hallway is a very modern black colour, with wonderful silver, white and red accents.
I guess what I’m trying to say is; this is a great opportunity to play with colour, and introduce textures as well, as trying to figure out the best way to fit my home with colour. I look forward to the end of the contest!
As for the webpage, I’ve just stumbled upon it earlier on Friday… thought I’d come back!
Thanks so much, Debra, for sending me the updates and instructions via email. Such great ideas and inspiration! You’re always so up-beat and cheerful that it really makes my day to get your messages.
I enjoy your website and would be happy to do more proof-reading if you ever need it.
But I sure hope I win one of those cool prizes since all my faux/decorative paint jobs are for charity, I couldn’t afford to buy that stuff!
Susie
Ever since I found your site and recieved your steps I have become a want to be. all the faux techniques are wow . I have hired it done in the past and never got what I was after but better than plan jane I figured. Our home has flooded twice in the last year and would love to be able to add interest to several area. Would love to win prizes to give it a try.Keep up the Great work. you are a very gifted and Blessed woman. May the Lord Bless and Keep you and grant you a very special Birthday
This is my first visit to the site and I find it very useful and helpful-wished I had found it a couple of years ago when I painted my office. Anyway, I love repurposing items and have a few pieces of furniture some of these items will be useful in transforming!
Congrats on the site revamp!
Debra,
As always you do such a great job. I love the new web site.
You asked why would I like to win.
My wife was diagnosed with PICKS Disease in 2007. She is wanting to redo our home while she can still enjoy the final out come. We have already started doing some things. But being able to really give her the paint and tools to make our home (her artwork) special would be very special for (to) her.
Thank you for giving each of us a chance to win.
Horace
I would really love to win this .. I have delayed doing anyting with my all white walls for 10 years now … I would love to have other colors and textures (and the faux brick really appeals to me for the kitchen) but have been afraid to start because I might mess it up. I just found your website and newsletters and they are encouraging me to the point I may actually start soon!!!! Thanks for such helpful information in such an easy to use format.
Good Morning, What a great idea! I am certain that there are many poor souls out there who when they tried faux painting on their own the room looked like it had the measels. It would be nice to go back and make the corrections necessary to rid myself of the measels room. Thank you, Charlene
Debra,
I love your new website !! We have been in the process of remodeling our kitchen and plan to do every room in our home. It was built in the 50’s and it really was in need of updating.
I really enjoy your newsletter and all the questions and answers.
Thank you for a wonderful newsletter and ideas. Best of luck with your new website.
Brenda
Hello again, I forgot to add my state in the message area, Illinois. I have a room that currently has the measels. That was the result of my creative work. After the holidays I am going to attempt the wonderful look that you have been able to get. Hopefully this time the room will not look like it has the chicken pox. Thank you. Charlene
I have enjoyed your site and your email advice for some time now. I can tell by reading your information and all your help that you love to paint as much as I do.
I have recently started my own faux painting business that I do on the side of my “bill paying” job. I hope to one day soon be able to paint full time and give up “going in to the office” each day where I work now.
Any prize I could win would be greatly appreciated and helpful to my new business.
I enjoy painting and creating more than anything else I can think of. It helps me keep my head clear of stress and worry and I always love the end result of seeing something that God has blessed me to be able to do.
I love your new site and I appreciate all the help you have given to me and everyone else.
God bless you and your family.

Love the new website design, much easier to navigate! Happy Birthday, by the way! I’m your not so typical DYI’er, down to taking apart the toilet to dig out a flushed, or not so flushed, toy! Taking apart the dryer to fix it or even doing my own vehicle maintenance. I’m currently in the process of redecorating (or should I say decorating) our 2 year old home. I have always loved color, but have been too afraid to use it in large quantities. But after 2 years of staring at blank white walls I think I’m ready to jump in! However, I need lots of creative ideas and inspiration to get the juices flowing so I would love to win any of the gifts. I’m ready to create the haven I have always dreamed about for myself and husband!

We’re in the process of updating our 30+ year old home and some faux finishes would give it the look we want to achieve.
i am very interested in interior decorating and i have done a short course in it. i have also done the online free course in interior decorating.faux painting is my most favourite part of the course, as i am most impressed with the various outcome,i love mixing colours and i have been practising on ply boards. i would love to do a course in faux painting but cant afford to do so at this time so when i saw ur offer to win this prize i just jump at it. i am not a citizen of the usa,but would love to win this prize nonetheless so i can practise some more. i am from jamaica please consider me. i would be very grateful. i think the website is very informative.continue the good work

Love your website and the new and exciting things that take place in each article you send me. I have painted a couple of rooms in my house by using some of your faux suggestions. Since completing these rooms, I have had several people come to the house and have wanted me to do their house as well. I have now done approximately 25 houses since doing my own. I enjoy it very much but just do it in my spare time. I would love to try some of the new paintable textures that you are offering for a grand prize. I am always looking for new and exciting things. Thanks.
