Greetings!

I am trying to paint a faux fireplace and cannot seem to paint the fire on the logs right. I cannot find anyone who knows the steps. When I do it it just looks childish. I hope you can help. Enjoy The Day!

Hi..
I have two pictures below. One of real fire in fireplace and one of painted fire in a faux fire place.

Fire flames are transparent. So the secret is layers of thinned paint. The brightest yellow is full strength paint at the very center of the flames. Then oranges and burnt reds make up the rest of the flames.

The fire must be over a very dark or black background.

A smoky black haze may be layered over the flames to soften the color.

This technique takes time and patience. Keep working with it and
checking the pictures.  You will do great!
