Check out this amazing video of an Egyptian Mural for Bathroom as it unfolds before your eyes.
This particular bath was constructed for this mural. The wall is obvious a planned
broken block wall and the ceiling is a barrel ceiling which just isn't found often
in a bath.
Couldn't this Egyptian mural be painted in any bathroom?
Does the ceiling need to be a barrel vaulted ceiling?
Does the wall have to be created with broken bricks?
No!
This entire video is an inspiration…just see what can be accomplished with just paint!
Things to look for:
- Blue (gorgeous) barrel ceiling with stars
- The mural breakout is painted on a "corner"
- The mural is drawn - then sections are basecoated in
- then the details are added.
- The faux block is done in irregular shapes
- Check out the black counter with gold shell sink
- The wall sconce is worked into the mural
- Watch for sections of the "corner" that are
- actually 3-d breakout bricks.
- The 1/2 sun in the mural is reflected in the mirror to make it an entire sun

That is totally awesome. I would like to know more about 3D painting.
Thanks for sharing the video..
The mural in the bathroom is great. I painted my bathroom with bubbles on the wall like the tub overflowed. I don’t think I could ever paint a mural like yours.
Hi Kelly and Charlotte - isn’t this egyptian style bathroom cool??? I can’t take credit, I wasn’t the artist on this project.
I like to find interesting video and articles to share with you. They are such an inspiration.
3D painting is called Trompe L’oeil painting - or Fool the Eye -
In the Professional Finishes for Beginners - Series you learn lots about shadows and highlights which is often the key to making a painted wall look dimensional. Click here to see the faux brick: http://www.fauxfinishhowto.com
This mural is incretible. I love the dimention, all this makes the room feel so much bigger. I can not believe that all this is started with the same technique as the faux brick. Amazing.
