I admit… I have been painting for so many years, that it is now often hard to grip a paint brush.
I was on the hunt for large grip paint brushes.
I thought a bigger grip or handle would help me control the brush… and actually get the brush and paint to go where I wanted it to land, and not put so much paint in places I would eventually have to repair.
What I found were these short handled brushes by Wooster.
The fact that I usually hold a brush by the silver part that holds the bristles… and not the actual handle, had never really come to mind. It had just become an easier way to control the brush and my hands didn’t cramp up as much while painting.
But… the long handle that was exposed above my hand was always knocking on the ceiling or adjacent walls. Not good for delicate faux painted finishes.
The handles on these Wooster brand short handled brushes are kind of soft as well. Not sloppy soft, but softer than wood or hard plastic… which makes them easier to grip.
The are easy to clean and easy to store… I just love them.
So… if your like me… and have a bit of trouble with holding on to regular paint brushes… these Wooster brand short handle brushes are the ticket! I haven’t found any large grip paint brushes that I like better than these little guys.

Another idea for a paint brush are the ones from Tomboy Tools. The handle is better shaped so you don’t have to hold your hand at a funny angle. I really like using my Tomboy Tools paint brush. They also have a great line of tools specially designed for women’s hands.
I agree, I also found those short handled brushes several years ago when I was in Fl. and went to shop for brushes to paint my Mom’s apartment. I love them, haven’t used anything else since.
You should have a look at the wonderful paintbrushes we sell at Tomboy Tools. I say that they are the advance on 5,000 years of wrapping bristles around a stick! If you order, use web ID 230117. I know you will love them.
OOPs! Didn’t see the earlier post about Tomboy brushes.

Hi, Debra. I used that brush a few years ago, but I can’t find it anymore. Where do they sell them now?
