Don't know where to begin with color. I have a newly renovated kitchen with browns/golds-colored granite countertop and a coordinated tile backsplash. The cabinets are a medium-toned oak, with oak window sills and molding. It is a larger country-kitchen styled room, with a bar (with stools) separating the kitchen from the dining area. Have a rather large area to paint around the dining area and hall leading up to it. Should I stay with the same color palette and add a zap of color to window treatments and other embellishments (have 4 double sided windows), or try to add color to the walls.

Hi!
I am trying to decide what color to repaint my kitchen. My budget is limited so I have to work with what I have. The cabinets are oak, countertops are demin blue, stainless steel appliances. I have a white/light gray speckled backsplash and white/grey marble looking ceramics tiles. Presently the walls in a light gray color and I have black wrought iron accents (wall shelf, bakers rack and pot rack hanging from the ceiling over the island. The kitchen opens into the family room which is decorated in demin blue, grey sectional sofa, black accents, dark cherry wood floors and white trim. I am not ready to redo the adjoining the family room. Any suggestions?
Thanks for your help?

I have a center hall colonial with medium oak trim EVERYWHERE. Too much to paint over so we have learned to embrace with more modern colors. My kitchen is one continuous room with our family room. The family room is a taupe color with green, chocolate and rich red accents. Kitchen is artichoke green with standard oak cabinets, Oatmeal Corian counter tops and flooring a generic neutral cream/off white ceremic tile (that I want to replace with ANYTHING but this color). Applicances are black. Light fixture and faucet are a rustic bronze. The cabinets are dated and have no hardware. I am considering painting them until budget allows a full cabinet replacement. What are your thoughts?

Look at sage greens... they will look wonderful with your your black appliances and golden oak cabinets. Be careful to pick
a green that is a bit "grayish" so that it will blend with your counter and flooring colors

I am trying to change my kitchen/dining area color. It is currently a mexicana red. My cabinets are a yellow/orangish oak, countertops are tan/cream/grey speckled; flooring is a tan/grey/cream also. My appliances are black. I am having trouble deciding what color to pick; would love to paint the cabinets, but too big a job for me. Any ideas on a color?
