Wow… the subject of faux marble is really heating up. I just got another question asking how to paint light green marble on a column.
I’d like to paint my wooden columns a light green faux marble. How would I achieve this?Amy
I found this great little guide for painting Green Marble on a column. You can see the directions here: Faux Green Marble
The directions call for the old Plaid Faux Finish Marbleizing Kit, which isn't available anymore (except maybe on eBay).
The kit included:
Basecoat Color(4 fl. oz.) Black
2 Marbleizing Colors(2 fl. oz. each) 2 colors of green (light and dark)
Veining Color(1 fl. oz.) white
Marbleizing Extender(2 fl. oz.) faux glazing liquid
Marbleizing Thickener(2 fl. oz.) Not Needed
Marbleizing Sponge (Useless … should have been a sea sponge) and a Marble Veining Feather (sold at any good crafts store)
Poly Sponge Brush
THAT Painter Lady says: "You don't need a kit!"
BTW… I am releasing a new video soon that teaches faux marble and faux granite. Stay tooooned.
Hope this helps… Debra

Hi Debra,
A while back you had a link that advertized a special stool on wheels that had a seperate place to kneel on with padded knee supports. It was really cool. I can’t find it now and I didn’t discover the price or how to order it. Do you have that info? I need a great stool to paint a mural on a low wall in a play room, to save my back. Any ideas? Thanks, Vicki
