How Do I Paint A 3-D Dimensional Mural or Add A Fake Room?
by THAT Painter Lady
Woot… here is a doozy of a question.
This 3-D Dimensional mural project would really take some skill and training.
Painting a mural that looks like you could step into the room requires firm knowledge of

What a great question… and a brave idea!
This tutorial is great for those wanting to learn about 3-D murals.
You might want to consider using a wallpaper mural. They are beautiful and very inexpensive. Best of all, they don’t take as much time as painting a mural. See thousands of ideas here:

Something else you can do, and I have seen it done is get yourself some cavas and take it up, sketch everything out on the canvas and then paint it. Take your time get it the way you want. Once you are happy with it take it to the wall you want and trim it, glue it, frame it… I have even seen this style of wall mural plastered into the wall. One of my favorites they cut the pic with an arched top. Then they glued it up on the wall and plastered the edges with a slightly raised edge. Then they drew large brick like lines into the plaster and cleaned it up, went back and tromp loi’d a big stone arch around the pic very easy and kewl affect. If anyone is interested I can tell you a real neat way to get ANY pic you like printed on water board and then mount that to the walls.
BE BRAVE AND DO IT

If you have no painting talent there are many places out there selling wall murals that may have what you are looking for. A full wall mural could get pricey depending on the size (but then again a large piece of canvas could cost the same). If you buy a wall mural slightly smaller than your wall there are many ways to blend in the canvas to your existing wall such as previously mentioned. This way is less time consuming and you could find simple ideas for blending the canvas into the wall that any non “painter” could do.
