Butterscotch is an Amber color that is derived from orange.  As is the Gold color. What you say is a light gold color... may be that it is too pale and too yellow.

So if you deepen the color with an amber color over the pale gold... you will end up with a butterscotch color.

Color wash the walls with a very, very thin glaze of an amber color. This will take more than one layer. Wash on... let dry... wash on... let dry... wash on... etc.</description>
