Home Office Ideas Burgundy Black and Terra Cotta Colors

Home Office Ideas Burgundy Black and Terra Cotta Colors I am redoing a home office.  I have black satin furniture, and a burgundy chair and ottoman.  The floor is a light terra cotta ceramic tile. What color walls would you suggest?

Home Office Ideas Using Burgundy, Black and Light Terra Cotta Colors.

When thinking about the two colors (not the black) we see that the burgundy is a blue / red and the pale terra cotta is a yellow / red (or pale orange) but they are both in the red family so we need a color to go with these two reds… (sort of reds)

Normally I would recommend something in green to go with the peachy tone of the floor.

The walls are a large expanse of your color choice and so is the floor. So a soft green would look perfect with the soft terra cotta floor. But…  we can't use burgundy with this color combination.

So… we go for the color that will go with both… which is a blue. I know your thinking… Blue for and office??  Stop thinking of a baby boy blue… I really do know what I'm talking about…(most of the time anyway).

Oh… and stop thinking about where the black fits in to the color scheme.  It doesn't. Black isn't a color, just as white isn't a color. It's just an accessory color. Even though I know your room is filled with black furniture… it still isn't part of the color scheme in this case.

Okay… back to choosing the BLUE color. Here is where I'm going to throw you off track… and tell you to paint the ceiling with a deep midnight blue. It's going to cozy up the room and make it more office-ee. (not a word, I know).

And lets make those pale floors come alive with a deep terra cotta on the walls. Beautiful Home Office Ideas!
