Painting is a great way to give any room in the house a new and fresh look while still being frugal with your money.

Hi Debra,
Have you ever used Aquastone? I'm looking for a product that will be easy to do and end up hard enough to do a unique playroom. There is an area the client wants to be a cave. It is an L-shaped hallway within an elaborate play room. I want to be able to trowel it on and shape it to feel like the inside of a cave. I want to be able to tint it first of course, but then maybe paint over it with some sandy paint. I think it would be fun to paint some moss in there and maybe some critters with some glow in the dark paint. I know there is some new stuff from rustolem. Any way I was hoping you had some advice or helpful hints on a product that would be durable to accomplish this idea? Thanks for yur help.

Your ideas and advice are superb, but I still can't draw a straight line with a ruler. I am still (3 yrs now) trying to decide what colors to do my kitchen in. I have a lot of items purchased for decorating in the Tuscan style but no idea on the colors. I think you should come and paint for me because I am a big chicken baby. But I have promised to start this project in the next 2 weeks, I am so sick of the vomit green on these walls. Thanks for the advice.

Those are great tips. I've been considering playing a little, but I've always been afraid of these techniques. I guess the worst that can happen is that you have to start over!
