Classes That Teach Faux Finishing on Video Easier, Quicker and Cheaper

Save Time, Time and oh yes…Money on Faux Finishing Classes

Here is the question -

  • Have you always wanted to learn a simple faux finish technique but didn’t have the time or the classes that teach faux finishing aren’t available in your area?

Let's talk about what you could learn from classes that teach faux finishing and decorative painting on video.

You may not believe this, but what I’m about to share with you is probably the most controversial statement you will ever see about faux finishing classes.

It’s not new or complex. To the contrary, it’s very simple. Don’t let this simplicity fool you.

One of the biggest roadblocks for many “would be” home decorative painters is lack of CONFIDENCE.

Most people try to faux paint a wall (with gusto and enthusiasm), and when they don’t see the results they expected, they drop the whole faux painting idea and move on to something else. In doing so, they NEVER learn how easy it is to achieve beautiful, distinctive walls in their homes.

If you’re going to try to learn a new painting technique, you need to have confidence in your ability to learn.

The beautiful end results will come with some practice and time.

Remember when you learned to ride a bike? It took practice and time…well, for most of us! Same with decorative faux finishes.

If you really want to know how well you are learning… ask your friends and family. Judging their reactions (ask for brutally honest opinions!), will give you the confidence to keep decorating with a vengeance. (I really don’t recommend asking anyone their opinion; unless you know it will be positive. I just really don’t want to know if someone doesn’t like what I just created as long as I like it. But that’s me.)

CONFIDENCE!

One Video Faux Finish Class Could Virtually “Hide” all Those White Walls.

The reason you’re reading this today is because once upon a time I had all white walls in my home and now I have designer style faux finishes in every room.

If you want to have rich, warm walls in the rooms of your home you have to learn how, or hire an expensive artist!

If you give up the idea of learning because the classes are expensive or not available in your area, you’ll always be wondering, “What could I have achieved with a little coaching?”

So, here’s the profound statement that I want to make to you today.

If you want to achieve the results you’re striving for, do this… Devote time from your weekly schedule to finding a faux finishing class on video and get painting.

Seriously, that’s it. That simple.

Still Thinking About a “Real” in Classroom Faux Finish Class?

I will admit that I have a blast when I can take a class with an instructor that “has it all together”. Usually, I get a huge boost of motivation and make some new friends to boot.

The downside is that I can never remember everything I learned in class and I have to take a long weekend to get too the class.

I live in a remote area where new faux wall finish classes would be a rarity. These classes cost a bunch and usually have to be included with a family vacation to justify the expense.

Also…the instructor may be great, but if the class handouts are minimal or non-existent, then you may have a problem trying to re-create the finish once you return home.

Now, for you and me as “moms” or “weekend decorators”, it comes down to our weekly schedule of activities.

One of the things we need is training. So, if we’re going to learn, then we need to find a teacher. How about learning from video?

Yes…You Guessed Right. I usually choose video over high cost classes. Wouldn’t it be great to have instructional materials and video tutorials on hand, so when you’re ready to start painting…everything’s a go?

You get started with shopping for supplies during the week and on Friday evening you read through the instructional materials.

Saturday morning…you’re up and ready. Plug in that video and, hey…you’re on your way to accomplishing your first faux finished wall.

When you run into a snag - say you can’t remember how to layer the paint colors. just rewind the video and you’re good to go!

The printed manual will usually have tons of photographs to give you a visual guide as well. See how easy this is? No need for strange schedules or expensive classes.

Just get your classes that teach faux finishing on video! It works… so you repeat it.

Week after week. Guess what??? You have a wonderful decorated home you painted yourself.
