I love the room ,its warm and inviting. Love the wine bottles on the wall. Might worry about someone hitting the shelfs on the side.
I think it looks great.

Love the striped walls, it’s different but not in a tacky way
Having just been married two weeks ago. Mike and I are at our witts end, not only do we want to sell my house, but we want to remodel his home and make it our own. After watching all of hgtv’s shows we have a good idea of what we want for our current home. But, my home has not had any bids on it, so we need help!!
Please entertain our request for help with either.

Those thick vertical stripes look great and also seem to make the room look larger than it actually is. Fabulous job!
Your Neighbor’s Place is another site where you can get decorating ideas.
I built it myself, and would like to know what you think of it. Thanks!
it looks really good. i like the red walls
I am about ready to scream! I have just finished redecorating my old, crumby kitchen and dining area to a very tasteful one, with the help of the designer at Home Depot, then realized how lousy the rest of my house looks. I have picked out the color ” stone brown” for my living room walls, and plan to get new carpet in a very pale beige, which I think will look fine. Now I am stuck! I have a huge window space on the front facing north to the front yard, approx 129″ long. On the east of it is about 23″ to the wall, then that wall is bout 13ft un- interrupted to the wall on the so, up against my kitchen. There is 32″ to the doorway (31″) into kitchen, then 9 ft.9″ to the open doorway to the dining area(35″), then the west wall, 13 feet back to the North wall again, and a 36″door to the outside, then 2 ft. to the window west side again. Small laminate area in front of entry door. With all these doorways, I am struggling with how to arrange it, and if what I want is even possible! I would love to have a fireplace, even if only electric, though I would have preferred a gas log, then I wanted a large screen tv above it, I have a small leather recliner, and 2 large beige recliners, and threw out all the rest of the furniture! ( well, gave it all away, actually). Seating for 7, some storage, and bookshelves is desired. Can you help me get a vision for the design of this room? Thanks!
IT HAS A COMFORTING LOOK AND THATS WHAT I NEED FOR MY DINING ROOM AND OPEN KITCHEN….
Surmelis bedroom on the 5:30 p.m. show 1-24-09 was spectacular. He is a great designer. Love the show.
The retro kitchen remodel on February 14th was over the top with too much red on the walls and the floor, well, I won’t go there. They liked it and that’s the important thing. Who am I to talk with my old 70′s kitchen with orange formica and dark oak plain cabinets. I did think the stove was gorgeous.
I love the stripes on the wall and the collor of the wall. I also like how the end chairs match the color of the drapes!!!
I thought the room was a little too monochromatic. The wall color, mixed with the drape color, mixed with the dark wood tones of the table were too similar. It was an elegantly decorated room, I just wish there had been some variation between the color on the surfaces.
